Meet some of our learners

Literacy of Northern NY is proud to celebrate the accomplishments of its students and the tremendous effort they put into their studies. To show appreciation, LNNY hosts recognition luncheons for each county and LNNY also presents certificates of achievement for course completion, goals achieved,  and sometimes just because a student has been outstanding or has tried very hard. Each month, LNNY chooses a student to honor.

March 2010, Lewis County Crystal's photo

Pat Dietrich’s student, Crystal, dictated most of the process of making chocolate chip cookies after she completed following the recipe and baking the cookies. It proved to be a very satisfying experience for her. She now had cookies to share with her nephews with whom she lives along with her sister and brother-in-law. They were delighted!
